The "stylized letters 'gh'" have been recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Having "gh" trademarked gives guy hang the exclusive right to use our name nationwide in connection with our organization and with any goods or services, as well as it allows us to enforce our trademark by filing a lawsuit in federal court.  These are strong protections, but it will be up to the organization to monitor any unauthorized uses of the gh name and take steps to stop them.

Since we've registered the gh trademark, we've gained several advantages:
  • Nationwide trademark protection
  • Our trademark ownership becomes part of the USPTO’s database, creating a public record of the "gh" ownership and the date that we began using the trademark
  • People who conduct a trademark search (click HERE to go to the USPTO's TESS (Trademark Electronic Search System) site) will see our trademark and may be less likely to use it
  • We can file a lawsuit in federal court to enforce our trademark
  • Registration creates a legal presumption that we own the trademark and can use it for the goods and services listed in our trademark application. This is helpful if we ever need to sue someone to enforce our trademark
  • U.S. registration may also allow us to register our trademark in other countries
  • Registration gives us the right to use the registered trademark symbol, ®
